My name is Diego Armando Reyes Rodriguez, Born and raised in Mexico, and growing up in a small city called Moroleon, Guanajuato, where my interest for business and art were born. Raised around my parents business in the city as well as fashion designing, because of my relatives. I would spend most of my childhood in a store or at one of my relatives workshops. Now it has inspired me to pursuit a degree in marketing. I am inspired to create art about Mexican heritage, politics and beliefs. I am Hoping to master and mix different levels of digital art forms like photoshop, final cut pro, soundtrack pro, etc. These will help me in future work. Music, fashion and media, also inspired me, I am hoping to some day used them in my professional career as a business major. I think will give me an edge on the competition, because of values that not many business students share like the knowledge of art tools and forms, as well as artistic problem solving.

As an artist I like to focus most of my work around life itself, trying to get a strong point across about sorting ideas and beliefs, in order to make my viewers feel emotional through it.

My work involves parts of life that I treasure and try to share with the public; my Mexican heritage, culture, music, fashion, beliefs and worldview are all examples of it. Incorporating them into my work in a authentic way, because of the different factors that inspire me.

Working with different elements in my short artistic period of time has giving me an understanding of artistic tools. Photoshop, chalk and charcoal, oil paint, pencil, and photography are some of the elements that I have worked with In the past. My goal is to master these elements and be able to combine different elements in a single piece.

I enjoy working with pieces that are related to Mexico’s situation and corruption within, also Inspired by Ernesto “che” Guevara and subcomandante Marcos of EZLN imagers and actions, that I use in my art to give specific pieces a stronger point in form of color, symbols and photos of these characters, also breaking down what I believe in and trying to make an impression on the viewer. Most of my Photoshop as well as some of my charcoal pieces have justice in mind, for example one of my charcoal pieces is a face of a child crying with the background being a street with people getting kill by government officials and words across spelling BASTA YA! (Enough). In this piece justice is the main thing that I try to get across to my viewers, which I think was introduced successfully.

My intent is to mix elements and combine them, making everything flow together as a whole in a unique and strong way. Pieces that will take my viewers breath away and latter on being able to incorporate my art skills into my business major.

Pros
Club rsx is one of the sites I navigate the most in, because of the community it forms for acura rsx car owners one of the pros about this site is that it is so easy to navigate as well as the information, bogs, pics, etc. makes the site extremely used full for us and is also a site that loads pics and everything else extremely fast.

Cons.
The only cons I found for this site is the bad customer service that the site offers for their products, it just makes buyer like my self wanting to get part from some other site.

2) Hotmail.com
Pros
This site organizes my mail really well and its also compatible with my msn messenger which makes it really used full went I am on messenger.

Cons.
The problems with this site is that I takes forever to load up everything in it as well as difficulty signing in, this makes the site extremely problematic went it comes to checking e-mail.

3) Pandora.com
Pros
Pandora is one of my favorite websites because of the variety of music they offer and because they put out some of the best play list that I have found in the web.

Cons,
The only thing I found for this site is that I takes a long time to load at fist, but is understandable because of the quality of the music and I t also only lets you skip so many songs per hour.

4) Youtube.com
Pros
You tube is a site that I visit really frequent for a variety of this for example news, how to do things, etc. Like Pandora they also have a extremely big selection of videos.

Cons.
He only bad thing about the site is that they show a lot of not related videos went searching a sorting thing

5) Fandango.com
Pros
This site is really easy to navigate and one of the reasons on why I used it the most is because it saves me a lot of time went looking into movies times/movies that I want to see.

Movie Review

The big sleep was a movie recorder in the year 1946 by H. Bogart, the movie is a drama stories about a detective that is trying to find the person responsible for black mailing the general.

On this movie I pay closed attention to transferring scenes as well as the sound effects of the movie in genera. As I was viewing the movie I notice a lot of cool ideas for transferring scenes that I can used on my video and would not give me much trouble. But one of the things that was really wear about the movie was its sound effects, I think it has to do because of the year the movie was recorder on, which was in 1946. For example the lighting bolds sounded like gunshots among many other wear sound effects and some of them were extremely bold and loud went compared to the movie.

Over all I found this movie interesting, and even founded somewhat like our today’s James Bonds movies, because the detective acted just like him and got to empress pretty much every woman in the film. I can also see the huge change that we hade gone thou in special effects and even sound effects since the 1940’s.

Memory Podcast

The memory podcast conducted on New York was an interesting radio show as well as an eye opener, because of the information giving to the audience about controlling your mind is in a way kind of scary, but a extremely interesting subject.

Through out the podcast different scientist explain their studies on the subject as well as experiments conducted on animal, for example the mice. On this experiment we see hoe the mice react to sound that are related to a shock giving to him in order to give him a memory, by doing this the mouse develops a “memory” for the sound of the sock therefore he avoids it. Our mind is like a hard drive according to this podcast, which I agree on. We store information on files that we can later look at. But what happens when we do not remember detail or a memory in that case? Well one of the scientist in the show gave an rather interesting example she basically play with a humans mind to give details that were not there but making it so real and detail that the person who the experiment was being conducted on did not notice it, this is why I thing is scary, the control of the human mind is literally a hard drive we can change things on our memory store them acting like a machine. Another issued brought on the show was, are we able to erase our mind? And locally a scientist conducted experiments with this as well, the answered is yes. The same scientist with the mice did the exact same thing but manage to reverse it, therefore erasing the mouse memory of the sound related to the shock.

This was an extremely interesting podcast and I hope we get nmore podcast like this in the future.

Extra Credit

The Grad Student Critique that I attended this semester was a unique experience for me as a business student. My expectations on what I thud a critique was like turn out to be a completely different experience nor to mention the artwork displayed at the critique.

Most of the pieces at the gallery were interesting to look at, but overall they were extremely weird to me and my friends that I drag into the gallery, it might be because I am completely ignorant tours art, but in my opinion most of the work was random like the two huge pieces by the door. The reason why I thud this pieces were random was because of the fact that I did not get the picture to make sense to me as a viewer and also by the huge bold red letters at the top spelling the word FUCK, it also appeared that the pieces were not done torts the bottom of the piece the layout with pencil was still visible.

One of the artist that I found extremely weird was the first crate, her drawings all contained little girls on it which I thud was interesting but at the same time weird, she started to talk about her work and then completely switch into talking about sexuality and little girls which I thud was extremely disturbing, it seem really weird to me, because I had never heard anyone relate those two things in such a way.

Over all it was a unique experience and hopefully I will develop some kind of understanding for this type of art in the future
